How do we do it?
The program has been developing from the very beginning of Ferien international camps. Gradually the program has evolved in such a way, that now we are able to get the participants interested and involved from the very first to the last day of camp. The most important task was to come up with a program structure that would be interesting and, at the same time, contributing for the older, as well as for the younger campers. We want everyone to have a memory or an experience from each day of camp, that he or she will like to remember. To combine this desire with the demand that English grammar and vocabulary should also be improved every day was the hardest task of all. However, we managed to come up with such a program structure that encompasses grammar and hard work as well as fun and entertainment and is suitable for campers of all ages. This is to a large extent made possible by the hard work of our counselors, who are thanks to their personalities able to motivate the campers and prove that studying grammar and new vocabulary can be done in a very entertaining and friendly way. We do not want to reveal our particular methods and activities to give the campers the chance to be surprised. What we can do is unveil basic concepts to demonstrate how our camps are run.
Workshops
One of the very important and very popular parts of a day are so called „workshops“. In other words they are activities prepared by inCamps crew members or external coworkers. To increase popularity and to make sure, that every camper will choose activity, which he enjoys at most, we made sure to stretch topic’s spectrum as much as possible. Therefore every day there are many workshops available, where campers can try activities, that have never tried before and find new hobbies and interests. Very often we invite professionals and external coworkers to demonstrate activities they excel at or are in any way irregular. The primary goal of workshops is to offer a choice. A choice between activities they are fond of and activities they have always wanted to try, but never had a chance.
Campgame
Campgames are traditional highlights of many camps. Not only are we trying to keep the tradition alive, but also we try to stress and point out the importance of team work and effort to achieve a certain goals as a group not as an individuals. Every single one of our camps has an original camp game theme. The entire camp atmosphere is then influenced by the chosen theme style. We hold the theme topic secret until the opening presentation, where it is described into the very detail. The themes are chosen very carefully to obtain not only classical features and topics, but also to be able to bond with young teenagers by presenting topics closely attached to their hearts and day to day lives. Not once they will be shown many things from different perspective and given ideas and knowledge, that should be considered as general knowledge. During our day a camp game is usually divided into afternoon and evening/night part. Night shows however, are often aimed outside of campgame theme to achieve greater topics‘ range.
Trips
During every camp, we organize set of trips, that have been previously discussed and agreed on among all participating sides. The most popular ones are for example trip to Prague, Karlovy Vary, Cesky Krumlov, Pisek and others. Trips are primarily aimed at sightseeing and discovering beauty of Czech natural and historical atmosphere. Professional guide is present on every single trip.
